Here at Brute Running Shoes, we know how difficult it can be to choose a new shoe. There are so many different options. Do you need a trail runner or road shoes? Does your shoe need to correct for over pronation? Choosing the right mens running shoes is essential, so here are a few quick tips to help you on your way. Take a look at our articles section for more information.
What’s pronation and supination?
As you’re probably already aware, there are a number of different types of mens running shoe depending on the shape of your foot. If your foot’s arch collapses when you run, then you may need a shoe that corrects for over pronation. Supination, on the other hand, means that the ankle rolls outwards, and there are shoes to correct for this too. Sometimes pronation and supination can cause other problems, so if you’re getting pain then a trip to the podiatrist may be required.
What’s the difference between trail and street mens running shoes?
Street running shoes tend to be softer then trail running shoes, which need to be able to stand up to the extra strain of an uneven ground. If you plan on doing trail running, then it’s important to get a shoe that’s made for the job.
How much should I spend?
Running is a sport that seems inexpensive, but many beginners don’t realize how important it is to have a good – and suitable – pair of running shoes. Be prepared to spend as much money as necessary to get shoes that will help your alignment and protect against injury.
